In today’s digital age, where the boundaries between online and offline interactions have blurred, the way businesses engage with their customers and prospects has transformed profoundly. Salesforce, a global leader in Customer Relationship Management (CRM), understands this paradigm shift and has innovated accordingly, emphasizing the importance of integrating Social Accounts, Contacts, and Leads into their platform.

The integration of Social Accounts, Contacts, and Leads into Salesforce CRM is not just a fancy feature; it’s a necessity in today’s digital age. It bridges the gap between online and offline worlds, allowing businesses to harness the power of social media and combine it with traditional CRM capabilities. This results in more profound insights, more meaningful relationships, and ultimately, successful business outcomes in the modern marketplace.

Unfortunate News

As early as August 23, 2023, X, the company formerly known as Twitter, will discontinue Salesforce’s public API access for the Social Accounts, Contacts and Leads feature.

Impact

Starting August 23, 2023, a significant change will take place. Users will no longer be able to connect their Account, Contact, or Lead records to Twitter/X profiles. Furthermore, profile images obtained from Twitter/X won’t be displayed anymore.

Solution

Search in AppExchange to find any available product. A quick search shows me a couple of options but after this recent announcement, it is very important to test the product in the sandbox very carefully to make sure it will support your use cases.
