What is Enhanced Domain Feature?

Salesforce’s enhanced domain feature is an easy and secure way to ensure that your Salesforce URLs contain your company-specific My Domain name. This means that all of your Salesforce URLs will have the same domain suffix, regardless of which Salesforce instance you are using. The advantage of this is that users will be able to easily remember your Salesforce URLs, and they won’t change when your org is moved to another Salesforce instance.

Salesforce’s enhanced domain feature meets the latest security standards by changing domain suffixes (the part after the My Domain name) to meet the latest security requirements. This ensures that your Salesforce data is protected from unauthorized access.

You should use Salesforce’s enhanced domain feature because it provides a more secure and user-friendly way to access your Salesforce data. It is easy to set up, and there are no additional fees associated with using it.

Setting up Salesforce’s enhanced domain feature is easy and can be done in a few simple steps.

  • First, you’ll need to create a custom domain for your Salesforce instance. This can be done by searching My Domain in the Quick Find box and then selecting My Domain
  • From there, under My Domain detail section, select Edit
  • Next, select “Use enhanced domains” option and click on Save.

What if I do nothing?

If you choose not to use Salesforce’s enhanced domain feature, your Salesforce URLs will continue to use the standard Salesforce domain suffixes. This provides a less secure and user-friendly way to access your Salesforce data.
